University for me has been a life-changing experience. As a single mother, it was very difficult at times but totally worth it.

I have completed my undergrad in Financial Economics and I am now in the Master of Arts in Economics (doctoral-stream) program. U of T was my first choice because of the reputation, excellent faculty and research, and proximity to home. I’m proud to be a part of this excellent institution.

I have loved my journey at U of T and have been recognized very much for my hard work. The highlight of my time here would be the last year of my undergrad where I won several awards including the U of T Scholar, Faculty Choice, Dean’s Excellence Award, and many others. I was also named the John H. Moss Scholar for 2013, a highly prestigious award and scholarship given to only one student across all three campuses.

Never let anything or anyone pull you down and never lose your focus. Most importantly, believe in yourself. Get to know your professors and don’t be afraid to ask for help and guidance. Hard work always pays off!
