“The graduate student experience sets the stage for future academic success.”
I chose U of T for many reasons including the superior reputation of the professors in the Faculty of Music and my positive audition and interview experience.
With one of the best research libraries in North America, the U of T library holdings are invaluable for doctoral research. The availability of academic materials relating to my discipline and the expertise of librarians were deciding factors in my choice of graduate school.
The diversity of scholarship in the areas of performance, theory, history, and education attests to the wealth of information and expertise available to scholars in the Faculty of Music.
U of T provides the resources that graduate students need to produce high-quality academic work. The student experience is very much an invitation to success. With the necessary support and guidance, scholars can realize their potential.
Not only is Toronto a great city to live in, but students will find ample opportunities for collaboration and creativity. The graduate student experience sets the stage for future academic success.
The most important thing to remember as a student in any discipline is not only to seize all the opportunities given to you, but to create new avenues hitherto untravelled. Universities will provide you with the tools, guidance, and advice you need, but your success is ultimately up to you. Success in life, like success in academe, is achieved through hard work and commitment, but above all through creativity and conviction.
