“It's great to be in a role where I have so much contact with current U of T students.”
My first U of T student card was from the ’80s when I took a summer course at the Mississauga campus. I later returned to do my master’s degree in Social Work, then again to do my PhD.
I feel very connected to my time as a U of T student, and it’s great to be in a role where I have so much contact with current U of T students.
Graduate students at the University of Toronto are doing amazing things, really having an impact in the city, the country, and the world. I hope that as the Vice-Dean of Students, I play a role in shaping an environment where they can have positive experiences of learning, scholarship, and contribution to the community.
When students pursue graduate studies they become very connected to their departments, labs, and practicum sites, but they also have a home at the School of Graduate Studies and are always welcome.
I have spent my professional and academic career working on issues of access, equity, and inclusion, and these commitments remain part of my work at the School of Graduate Studies. I hope people will speak with me about their ideas and visions for achieving access, equity, inclusion and excellence in graduate studies at U of T.
