“The program has kept my curiosity alive and kicking.”
I chose U of T because of its reputation for excellence in research, innovation, diversity, and exciting edgy programs. U of T thrives on excellence; its unique ideas set it apart from other schools.
Most of my classes and group discussions were engaging and dealt with current world issues. I learned critical thinking and new problem-solving skills. The [Cell and Systems Biology] program has kept my curiosity alive and kicking, so that no two days are the same.
It is very easy to get involved in activities at UTSC [University of Toronto Scarborough] and to interact with students and faculty in non-classroom settings. I have been extensively involved in UTSC’s Grad Student Association for three years and participated in many events ranging from badminton groups to academic seminars and social events. There’s always something to do after classes.
My advice to prospective students: choose a research program wisely. You will be committing yourself to it for a few years. I would also recommend getting involved in student clubs and experiencing Toronto life fully. Enjoy the process on the way to the goal!
