“I instantly felt that I was in the right place.”

I transitioned easily as a new student to U of T. At orientation, I instantly felt that I was in the right place. I enjoyed my Master of Science in Planning program at U of T; the faculty members and graduate administrators were very warm and supportive.

I made a lot of great friendships with other students during my time in the program. I found that it’s easy to make wonderful friends here. U of T is such a great place to be — this is why I stayed to complete my PhD!

My advice to prospective students is visit Toronto! The location of the campus is ideal; it’s fantastic to see people cycling to school. While Toronto is the biggest city in Canada, it also has a great public transit system, and it is really easy to explore the city, shop, and visit friends. Whenever I go home, I have to borrow a car to get around! I feel safe in the big city; there are always people around.
