Preparing to Write a Grant Proposal – Recorded Workshop

  • This event has passed.

September 4, 2023 @ 5:00 pm EDT

Available on demand until September 4, 2023

This recorded workshop is taught by Dr. Jane Freeman.

The ability to write an effective grant proposal is an essential skill for graduate students, and yet most students have little or no experience writing proposals until they get to graduate school. In this workshop, we’ll examine the “where, what, when, why, and how” of grant writing by answering questions such as the following: Which grant should I apply for? How do I learn about grants beyond SSHRC, CIHR, NSERC, and OGS? When should I apply? What are the essential components of a competitive grant proposal? What are the most common errors in grant writing? The goal of the workshop is to help you begin to prepare a strategic plan for grant writing in the coming months.
