“You’re at U of T to learn, but don’t forget to have fun. ”
I chose the Master of Environmental Science program at U of T because it was designed to allow flexibility for students with different backgrounds. It offers both a research paper option and an internship option. I felt I had done enough research in my undergraduate program and was ready for a different type of challenge.
This program helped me to secure an internship with a company that I have longed to work for. It provided me with a good knowledge base for my future career. I’m still learning a lot on the job, but my current employer is always surprised at how much I know already.
My U of T experience is about learning — in a world-class city. I can feel the hustle and bustle of Toronto’s busy streets one minute, then step through the university gates to feel the campus atmosphere the next. If the big campus feel isn’t for you, the smaller Scarborough and Mississauga campuses offer a more intimate student experience.
There is something for everyone. I played intramural volleyball and hockey, and was a team representative on the Scarborough Campus Hockey Players Association. I was also a blog contributor for the UTSC Sustainability Office.
Don’t let your studies consume you. Ultimately, you’re at U of T to learn, but don’t forget to have fun. Make sure you take advantage of the clubs and sports teams before that small window of opportunity closes.
Don’t miss your opportunity to attend a top-notch school in a great city!
