Carolyn Guay is a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto and Rotman Research Institute. Their research considers how the brain changes with age and how these changes affect the way items are represented in working memory. They are particularly interested in how changes in cognitive control over item representations can lead to the memory deficits and benefits observed in healthy aging.

Outside of the lab, they are dedicated to science teaching and communication. Serving for three years as a Lead Writing TA for the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto, they are part of the GCAC’s “Writing NSERC Proposals” instructor team.
